Step 1: Get a residency visa(If you're a foreigner)
For UAE citizens and GCC nationals, it is an easy process as they can apply for the licensing process. However, for foreigners, it is a little complicated, as they must have a valid residency permit to apply for the job of real estate agent. They can get an employee visa from their employers, or a residency visa from their spouse or relative but they must act as a guarantor or you must be sponsored by them. Also, an Emirates ID will be required to apply for the job.
Step 2: Sign up for DREI-certified training
After getting your residency Visa, now comes the time to apply for certified training by the Dubai Real Estate Institute or the DREI. They have this four-day program that focuses on giving real estate agents insight and knowledge regarding the real estate industry of Dubai. The regulatory arm of the Dubai Land Department or DLD, Real Estate Regulatory Agency or RERA approves this course and declares that it is necessary for future real estate agents, the course goes through these topics:
Step 3: Give RERA Exam
After the completion of this four-day course, you have to appear for this exam which will be a written exam by RERA registration exam, and clearing it will declare you a certified real estate agent. If you hold a bachelor's degree then the exam fees for you will be AED 3200 and for non-degree holders the exam fees will be AED 6300. The questions in your exam will be completely based on the course.
Step 4: Get your License
If you clear your exam you will get your license to work as a real estate agent in Dubai. One more thing that is necessary for you is to have a certificate of good conduct. Once you get it done, the economics department will issue you a license by which you will be able to work in the real estate industry and also a card as well. They will send all of your credentials in one or two days after submitting the required documents. Also, it is important to renew your license one month before its expiry date, to avoid penalties and charges.
